THE PROPOSAL

The site is located on land to the east of Hullbridge. The current outline planning application is seeking approval for the principle of delivering new homes on the site. Detailed aspects of the development, including the layout, appearance, landscaping and design of the new homes, would be considered through future ‘reserved matters’ submissions.

Key Benefits of the Proposed Development:

  • AFFORDABLE HOMES: Up to 50% affordable housing, with details of the mix and tenure to be informed by evidence of local housing need.
  • WALKING ROUTES: Attractive walking routes throughout the site, linking to neighbouring areas and Public Rights of Way to promote connectivity, permeability and active travel.
  • SUSTAINABLE: Well connected to public transport, schools, healthcare and local services, helping to support convenient and sustainable lifestyles.
  • OPEN SPACE: New public open space, including the potential provision of a Locally Equipped Area for Play (LEAP), creating opportunities for recreation, play and informal community use for all.
  • LANDSCAPE: Retention of existing trees and vegetation wherever possible, complemented by new boundary planting to help integrate the development into its surroundings and enhance biodiversity.
  • CLIMATE RESILIENCE: Sustainable drainage, planting and other measures to help manage rainfall and support environmental resilience.
